Aaron Dewey
1818-1857

Aaron Dewey was the eighth child of George Dewey, and his third child with his second wife Mary (née Peyton) of Witcham, Cambridgeshire, England.

Aaron appears to have fathered a son, named William, about 3 years prior to his marriage to Ann Venny.

When he was 23 years old, it appears that Aaron was accused of 'maiming a horse' with two other men. This accusation took him to court at Cambridge, where he, and the other two suspects, were all found 'not guilty' on 18th March 1837.

By 1841, Aaron is married and is working as an agricultural labourer, a trade that he keeps by the time that the 1851 census (his last) is taken.

Aaron died aged 38 years. His widow Elizabeth went on to re-marry to labourer James Chapman.
