Thomas Dewey is the earliest Dewey ancestor that I have located so far.
In 1768, he married Miss Elizabeth Covell of Witchford, and in doing so, brought the Dewey name to Witchford, Cambridgeshire, for the first time. Just three months after their marriage, they baptised their daughter Elizabeth at the same church.
Thomas and Elizabeth had four children, three of which survived past infancy.
