Alberta Dewsbury
(1887-1947)

Alberta Dewsbury (later Alberta Driver) was the seventh of the twelve children of publican and miller Henry James Dewsbury and his wife Mahala Randall who ran the chain ferry across the River Ouse at Barway, Cambridgeshire, England.

She married Walter Driver, a farmer of her native Little Thetford. The couple set up home there to raise a family of three children.

Alberta pre-deceased her husband by 16 years in 1947, and is buried alone in Little Thetford's cemetery.
