The Freeman family of Cambridgeshire

The earliest known ancestor that I have traced is my Gt.x4 Grandfather John Freeman, a farmer, born in 1812 in Prickwillow. He married Mary Grey from Ely, Cambridgeshire and the couple had at least ten children. John parents are believed to be John and Phoebe Freeman who appear in the late 19th Century censuses near to John and Mary in Coveney, Cambridgeshire.

By the time of the 1841 census, the family were living at Cold Moor Farm in Witchford near Ely. They are noted as having two servants - Robert Cato and Ann Warren. The family then appears in Coveney in on the 1851 and 1861 censuses as farmers with their children. They may have previously lived in nearby Soham before Prickwillow.
