Jane Watts (née Lincoln)
Jane Lincoln
1863-19??
Jane Lincoln was the daughter of Charles Lincoln and Elizabeth Giddings. Jane was Elizabeth's second child - her first being Sarah Elizabeth Giddings who was born illegitimately nine years earlier.
Jane married Herbert Watts, a grocer (1901) and egg dealer (1911) and the couple settled in Clapham, London to raise a family. Together they bore eight children, but only four survived - two sons and two daughters.
Their eldest son was Lincoln Watts - who went on to become a Baptist missionary - travelling to India on many occasions to evangelise the local population. This came against a frosty reception. Lincoln and his family travelled between England and India on many occasions.
Jane's eldest daughter Martena Watts, married David Arthur Thrower - another Baptist missionary, and together they also travelled to India on a few occasions undertaking the same kind of work. Like Lincoln, David was also an author.
It is unclear as to what became of Jane and Herbert.
