Mary Long was seemingly the oldest of the two known children of Philip and Ann Long of Witcham, Cambridgeshire.
She married George Dewey of Witcham and their eventual family of five children began to grow in Witcham but sadly, shortly after the death of their son Thomas (the second Thomas Dewey, the first died the year before), Mary died too, leaving George with a family of young children to look after.
