Susannah Poole
1727-1772
Susannah Poole (also 'Susan Poole') was born circa 1727 in Witcham, Cambridgeshire.
Her first appearance in my family is in my Barber family tree as my Gtx5 maternal grandmother, the wife of Robert Barber of Witchford. The couple married in 1751 at Witcham and had six children together.
Robert died in 1765 at only 38 years old, leaving Susannah with five young children to look after.
Susannah then re-married to widower Philip Martin of nearby Coveney and they set up home at Wardy Hill. He was from my paternal Martin family, meaning that by marriage I am my own cousin.
Susannah and Philip are not believed to have had any children, with Susannah dying within two years of their marriage.
