Mary Ann Tingey
1854-1921

Mary Ann Tingey was the oldest known of the three children of William Tingey and his wife Eliza (née Marshall) of Brigg and Cleethorpes, Lincolnshire, England.

Mary Ann is noted as a 16 year old Dressmaker by the time of the 1871 census.

She married Thomas Campbell Moss, who was a major contributor to the fishing industry in Grimsby, Lincolnshire, England. He was appointed Mayor of Grimsby in 1915 (and therefore she became the Lady Mayoress), and he had amassed a fortune by the time of his death.

The couple had seven children, most of whom would go on to work within their family business of Steam Trawlers and fishing.
