Thomas Tingey was the illegitimate child of Ann Tingey of Witcham. He became a shepherd of Little Downham and he settled here with his wife and family on Cannon Street.
He married Mary Barber of Witcham and the couple had at least two children.
His last will and testament was written just one day before his death at the age of 74 and would perhaps account for its brief nature, leaving his estate to his wife Mary, who continued to live with her son's family after his death.
