At the time of the 1911 census, Ada appears as living up in Manchester, England, with her mother's cousins Henry Crabb and his sister Hephzibah Crabb, but it is not clear how long she stayed here.

Ada married labourer John Lavender Haylock of nearby Sutton, Cambridgeshire, England, and the coupled remained there to set up home.

Ada and John did not have any children, although they regularly cared for their numerous nieces and nephews.
