Alfred Yarrow
1916-1943
Alfred Yarrow was born in 1916 to Mrs. Laura Yarrow (nee Dewsbury) whilst her husband Owen Yarrow was away fighting in the First World War.
Alfred was not Owen's son but he was raised as if he was, even taking the Yarrow surname. The identity of his father remains a mystery.
He enlisted in the 5th Battalion of the Suffolk Regiment as Private 5835326 to fight in the Second World War. He died in captivity and was buried in Thailand.
