Francis was the youngest known child of John Yarrow and his wife Mary Rayner of Little Thetford, Cambridgeshire.
Francis married Anne and the couple went on to have seven known children.
In 1851, the Little Thetford census notes him as "landed proprietor" whilst his daughter, Sarah is listed as a "schoolteacher" and his son Daniel as a "draper".
