Jessie Yarrow

Jessie ('Jess') was the fourth of the fifteen children of James Yarrow and his wife Adelaide Bishop of Little Thetford, Cambridgeshire.

During the First World War she worked at Wilburton train station, Cambridgeshire where her older sister, Maude, worked as a porter. Jessie eventually left home and went to work in London, where she undertook office work and typing. It was here that she met her husband, Leslie Ling.

Jessie also worked for the National Farmer's Union at Horseheath, Cambridgeshire.

Jessie and Leslie had only one child, a daughter, born at the house of Jessie's sister Ada, in Sutton, Cambridgeshire.
