William Barker
1823-?
William Barker was one of the children of Joseph Barker and his wife Esther/Hester of Barkway in Hertfordshire.
William married Mary Head (also of Barkway) married and had at least nine children between 1850 and 1866.
William worked as an agricultural labourer and although missing from his family's entry on the 1861 Barkway census, his wife Mary, is noted as a "Hay Binder's Wife". Perhaps William was away binding hay at the time.
By the time that William's daughter Mary Ann remarried to James Smith of Littleport, Cambridgeshire in 1896, he was noted as a deceased Carpenter. He was still alive at the time of her first marriage in London in 1880.
