Robert Boulter
(1825-1875)

Robert Boulter was the youngest of the four known children of labourer William Boulter and his wife Ann Covell of the fenland village of Wentworth, Cambridgeshire, England.

Robert worked as an agricultural labourer in the rich fenland surrounding his home at Wentworth for at least 30 years.

He married Mary Ann Moden in 1852, and the couple went on to raise ten children. Sadly, two of their daughters - Emily, and youngest child Martha - failed to thrive, and died as infants. After Emily's death in 1857, they had to wait 9 years for their next daughter, who they named Emily too.

After his father's death, his widowed mother Ann came to live with him and his family until her own death in 1870.

Robert pre-deceased his wife Mary by 28 years in 1875.
