Mary Haylock
(1773-1826)

Mary Haylock (later Mary Newell) was the oldest of the three known children of John Haylock and his wife Elizabeth Parson of Ely, Cambridgeshire, England.

Mary married Francis Newell of Ely in 1794, with her sister Sarah Haylock acting as one of the witnesses.

The couple had five children, but sadly two - their first and last, and both named Hannah - died between the ages of 12 and 15.

Mary predeceased her husband in 1826 when she was 53 years. Francis lived another 21 years, dying when he was 81.
