Sidney is noted as a "farmer" in the Kelly's Directories for 1900 and 1904.

He married Kate Bertha Skeef, a teacher at Little Thetford school, and together they had one child. Sadly, Sidney died when he was 56 years old.

His widow Bertha out-lived him by 29 years, during which time she re-married to one of Sidney's distant cousins, William Yarrow Lister.
